Pay rises for care workers..?
Pay rises for care workers are being fought for as former care ministers back care providers, unions and doctors in urging the chancellor to urgently increase wages.
It’s been found there are more than 800,000 care workers who are paid less than the real living wage, which is half of the national care workforce.
With increased pressure on the sector due to the pandemic, the call for extra support comes amidst warnings of exhaustion and burnout for care staff.
